The deadline to submit your nomination for The Royal Conservatory Thank A Teacher Award is quickly approaching. The response to this award has been both remarkable and inspiring. We thank all of you who have submitted your stories, videos, and recordings that pay tribute to your exceptional Canadian music teacher.

For those of you who still wish to submit, nominations will be welcomed until 11:59pm, April 8, 2011.

As part of The Royal Conservatory's upcoming 125th anniversary celebrations, the Thank A Teacher Award will honour the outstanding teachers who have fostered a love of music across our nation and have helped to develop creativity, persistence, and goal achievement among Canadian youth. The award includes a prize package valued at over $8,000.

RCM_ThankTeacher_img_smThe winner will receive their award at the Promise of Music, a one-day inspirational symposium on music education, on May 13, 2011 at The Royal Conservatory in Toronto.

All Canadian music teachers over the age of maturity in their province are eligible for the 
Thank A Teacher Award. Nominees can be classroom instructors, private studio teachers, choir or ensemble directors, or community music directors.

Help us recognize the remarkable teachers who every day transform lives and minds through the power of music and the arts. Follow the simple instructions to
nominate your teacher online. We welcome submissions from individuals over 16 years of age or from a parent or guardian on behalf of someone under 16 years of age.
